Dyke Hills oppidum
Sited on a bend of the great River Thames in Oxfordshire, this was one of the new towns of the 1st century BC. In the distance on the other side of the river is the abandoned hillfort of Wittenham Clumps, now obsolete. We are looking south: around two sides of the town are mighty defences: a double rampart with a wide moat between. Produced for Dorchester Abbey Museum
